Painting techniques using water

Watercolor painting on silk or on thinner paper uses mainly synthetic pigments and gummed water. It is a fast technique that is used in the realization of outdoor works, study paintings and pochades. As for gouache, also called tempera paint, it uses mainly gummed water. It can be easily mixed with several soluble dyes. On the other hand, tempera is a technique that uses mainly egg as a binder. Oil-based, wax-based and different techniques

Oil paint is essentially composed of drying oil and several pigments. Its composition creates a thick, greasy paste that can be applied to many surfaces such as wood, rigid board and marouflage.
